Richard’s Country Meat Market was built in the mid 1980’s and originally named Country Time Meat Shoppe. Richard McGinnis became part owner in 1993. In 1997 Country Time became a completely family owned business and was renamed Richard’s Country Meat Market. Richard’s has grown over the past 12 years due to a very loyal customer base as well as a growing demand for the personal service Richard is known for. Richard offers his customers the highest quality product and his personal wealth of knowledge that comes with over 30 years of experience. The family of employees at Richard’s offer customers cooking tips, times, and recipes for practically any dish or cut of meat. Richard McGinnis was raised in Tontitown, Arkansas. He participated in FFA while at Springdale High School and was awarded the American Farmer Degree in Agri Business. Richard’s career in meat cutting began in his hometown at Tontitown Mercantile. Richard then went on to work 15 years for Dillons, a division of the Kroger Co., followed by 3 years at Food For Less. Richard and Karen live in Springdale, and have two sons, Chris and James. Chris McGinnis was raised in Springdale, Arkansas and attended Springdale High. Chris worked for his father at Richard’s during high school and college. After graduating from the University of Arkansas with degrees in Marketing Management and Human Resource Management, he moved to Dallas, TX to work for Sears and Roebuck. After two years, Chris realized that the most rewarding career for him would be working with his father at Richard‘s Meat Market. Chris and wife Lori have two daughters, Audrey Claire and Olivia Paige.
